Tiglio is one of Italy's most distinctive monofloral honeys, produced from the blossoms of the linden tree as it flowers across the Tuscan countryside in early summer. The bloom is relatively brief and highly dependent on weather, so our local beekeepers in the Arezzo area carefully position their hives to capture the nectar while the trees are at their peak.
The flavor is aromatic and unmistakable—fresh and floral with subtle herbal, almost mint-like notes and a clean finish that sets it apart from sweeter, more delicate honeys. Its color ranges from pale amber to golden, and over time it may naturally crystallize into a smooth, creamy texture. Tiglio has enough character to be interesting on its own without becoming overpowering.
Like all our honey, we partnered with a local beekeeper in the Capolona area specifically because of Italy's strict farming regulations and the care taken over the surrounding landscape. The result is raw, unfiltered honey that stays as close as possible to the way it comes from the hive.
How to use it: Excellent stirred into tea, paired with aged or soft cheeses, spooned over yogurt, drizzled over fresh fruit, or simply enjoyed on toast. Its naturally herbal character also makes it one of the best varieties to taste straight from the spoon.
