Our Story
Some people inherit a farm. I went looking for one.
I grew up in Oregon, always close to the land. Every year u-picking fruit with my family, tending a backyard garden and raising chickens. Traveling the world, I kept noticing the same pattern: wherever grapes thrived, so did figs. And wherever figs grew, olives followed.
Oregon has amazing grapes. Our backyard fig tree flourished. So for years I chased a dream of building an Oregon olive oil industry from scratch. Saving, searching for land, convinced it was possible.
Then in 2022, a different opportunity appeared, an established olive farm in Capolona, Tuscany. A farmhouse built in the 1400s. A family that had farmed the same land since 1882.
We bought it not to abandon Oregon, but to learn from the best. The former owners are still part of everything we do. Every olive is harvested by hand. We farm organically and press within hours of harvest.
One day Safadi Farm comes home to Oregon. Until then, every bottle ships direct from our grove in Capolona. No blending, no middlemen, just the oil.
